Three steps down
you’ll find a door
to unknown places
aged hopes that time erases
stained photographs
dull tight amber
dreams made opaque
and proof to leaks
through resilient years
of holidays in sodden shirtfronts
flicker
toe a few quick steps
and flame out a dance
in no time at all
